I have to admit that this was new to me. I always thought
that you need tread to disperse water, especially when
you get a decent amount of speed going.If I don't need tread at all in the wet then I was thinking
of getting some Axial Super Comp tyres.

tread patterns makes no difference. Minimal tread is just cosmetic,
and heavy tread can actually reduce grip on the road by making
the interface less stable (commonly called "squirm"😉. -

more.Think about it.. any tread features will deflect more than a slick

often fit them the wrong way because that looks right treadwise.
Not treaded, but structured to support the contact area and yet shave
some rubber. These are 38s that aren't much slower than 23s.

That's right. So if you regularly find yourself riding at speeds in excess
of 180kph (theoretical hydroplaning speed of a bike with 25mm tyres inflated
to 100psi) in the rain, you should definitely consider treaded tyres on your
bike 🙂 -
