When we hit Reno last May, it didn't matter the coin size as

My boss' father went through Berlin during and after WWII.
The tales he tells about the things they were reduced to
eating... Kinda knocks me down a notch on the snob-o-meter,

Either - they want to keep the players in their seats
waiting for their drink to come back, AFAICS. It is waaay
smarter (if you're looking for free drinks) to play video
poker at the bars - the bartender will keep you topped off
without waiting for a waitress (and it is *alway* a waitress
and usually in a very ugly, abbreviated costume and they did
not always hire these women for their comely looks or svelte
figures) to come back around <g>

I was playing quarter poker at the bar. Bartender said If I
stuck $10 in a machine and played, he could comp me drinks.
A guy a couple machines down hit the royal flush for $1000.
Damn! I hate when that happens. Away from the bar,
waitresses were cruising the casino -- this was at the
Monte Carlo.

Yep, they want you to graduate to the quarters and dollars
so they keep you happy. If you play, you can drink. In most
casinos the nickel slots pay back 100% or even a little
more. They want you to think playing the machines is easy
and foolproof and then you move to the bigger machines.

much more than Souper Salad.
