wait for a reasonable spot to get by and either go past off path (if possible) or ring bell and say loudly "Passing" in cheeriest voice possible (otherwise they are likely to wheelsuck :-) )

A bunch ride on a cycle path? Oh well, I suppose I would
approach relatively slowly and call out "passing" when it
was clear to the tail-end rider that I was there. An air
horn ought not to be employed in this case because it
doesn't convey the message "I am here, I want to pass", it
conveys "Oi [censored], get out of the way". As such, it
should be used against recalcitrant pedestrians and bikes on
the wrong side of the path.

You should also ensure that you don't top-post as you
    go past. :p

    Ritch.
