To the best of my knowlege, no. I have access to wholesale
chocolate catalogs and information from manufacturers and I
have not seen any "caffeine-free" mentioned. Well, as
someone else said, white chocolate will be caffeine-free.

You do realize that the actual caffeine levels in chocolate
are very low compared to coffee and tea. It probably isn't
worth the effort to try to decaffeinate it.

Too bad about the caffeine-free chocolate. I have an allergy
to caffeine - I get a reaction from just stepping into
Starbucks.

I could tell if something has caffeine in it by just
smelling it.

Caffeine is virtually odorless. More likely you have an
aversion to the smell of foods you associate with caffeine.

How much caffeine triggers it? As I said, there's very
little in chocolate. Have you discussed this with your
allergist?

There is little caffeine in chocolate. And none in the psuedo-
chocolate brown crud that Hershey's churns out.

And most "food-borne" allergies are psychosomatic.

Folks, the reason I asked about this is that my cousin is
pregnant and she wants to stay away from caffeine because of
that. However, she is having a really hard time staying away
from chocolate!... so far she apparently has but is hoping
to find a "decaf" version.

Ok, again, they usually don't decaffeinate things with very
little caffeine in them.

brother, who buried his 4-year-old daughter a number of
years ago after she died from a food allergy.

giving her a cookie with peanuts in it thought she wouldn't
