I have a copy of the Cambiatta Beta 3 software, but I don't like that nearly as much as I liked the previous software, which I no longer have.
You wouldn't happen to have the previous software, would you?

As for the software, I've put it up on Rapidshare. The link is:

Hello,
I did send my copy of the software 2.0.62 to Andy. The only problem that I see is that his is a demo version that is suppose to get the register number from the web site (no longer there) so I don't know what will happen after the 30 day ( I guess you could deleted from the register and re-install). These are some problems that I have encounter.
1) I had issues when installing in XP, but it did install.
2) At times when downloading the info from the receiver I get nothing. The dialog window will not allow me to continue after receiving the info (I press on next and nothing happens). Com port, deletion of pass training all working well
3) At times the unit does not get the information from the HRM (Polar)
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rafael

For windows XP I always install the software first. Just click "ok" to everything and it's prettys straightforwrd. After the software is installed, I then attach the Cambiatta onto its USB cradle and plug it in on any of my USB ports. Windows XP finds it and then does a double install of the driver, which is normal.
Usually the Cambiatta is found on USB port 4.
I've had the problem with the software locking up after downloading information before, but not after my last install of the software which came after a clean install of Windows XP itself.
I stopped mounting the Cambiatta receiver on the handlebars and now slide it up the inside of the left leg of my shorts when I ride. This solved a problem that I had with it sometimes losing reception on the cadence and speed. All reads fine now.
The Beta 3 software has no time limit on it, so it'll work as long as you need it to work.

You said. You had to do a clean install (from scratch?) of XP in order to solve the problem? Question. When you start you press the black button. Right? Do you press it at the end of the ride?

The computer nerd in me will do a complete rebuild of my machine a few times a year and I just so happened to do so this past weekend which is why I know about its behaviour after a reinstall.
The Cambiatta will turn itself off after 2 minutes of receiving no signal. So when I stop I just undo my heart monitor and that starts the 2 minutes.
When starting I usually hop on the bike and pedal a little bit to have a small cadence and speed going and then press the button to start the little bugger.
If you press the button again, it'll basically start another session of recording. So you can split your ride into sections, almost like a lap timer, by hitting the button while riding. When you download your rides it'll tell you that you have X number of rides and you have to download them individually. If there's a way to "stitch" them together, I still have yet to figure it out.
If you do nothing and go riding, it'll record until there is a two minute break. If you stop for a break and aren't riding but forget to undo your heart monitor, it will continue to record that until it gets a two minute session of no activity.

Thanks. What do you need to know? Operation itself is actually pretty easy. Press the button when you start your ride, press it again when you stop. Retrieve data from Cambiatta when done.
Yes, I'm completely oversimplifying. 🙂 But it's honestly not that much harder than that. If you're looking for setup instructions, I can write them out for you. I need to take photos of the Cambiatta on my bike for show and tell though.
