Have you got one that's broken and if so what are the symptoms? As its not
one of the higher volume sales electric bikes around and isn't even listed
on the AtoB Magazine Buyers guide you're unlikely to find many people with
experience of these, let alone people who visit this group as well. If
you're considering buying one, a Google search quickly brought me to a page
about the bike which outlined its specs (including the fact that a lead acid
battery is used on it as well as a brushed motor, things that AtoB Magazine
recommend against when buying a new electric bike further down this page:

I own a Giant Twist Comfort electric bike and have yet to find any decent
manuals covering power assisted bicycles at all. Additionally my enquiries
to a well known publisher of manuals for cars, motorbikes and bikes among
other areas, wasn't received with much enthusiasm. I can't recommend local
retailers or repairers because I don't know Leicestershire but I'd strongly
suggest, if you haven't already done so, that you visit the AtoB website and
buyers guide, they specialise in reviewing electric bikes and are a great
reference point if you're looking to buy.

Hi Paul
I brought a Cambridge Legend for my wife who has ME, after reading it had a
good press at AtoB website.
Seems the bottom bracket has come away from the frame and it is almost
impossible to dismantle this bike without proper instructions.
The bike is new (less than a month old and used once) so the dealer should
refund/replace it no?

That's odd, because a quick Google led me to

which says the Cambridge Legend has a NiMH battery

My Googling led here (the UK distributors website according to the bottom of
the AtoB price page - although I didn't know that at the time).

comprehensive info than the price page (although for fewer bikes).

Looks like there's a new model out so it will depend which one the o/p has.

I'm sorry to hear of such a big problem happening so soon. I cant find any
such good press at the AtoB website for the bike itself and there's no
indication that I can see, that they've reviewed one. I can't remember
anything about it in the magazine either - what edition or website did you
find the "good press" in?

Certainly unless the damage has been caused by abuse or something not
covered under the warranty, I cant see why it shouldn't be fixed for free.
As to whether they replace the whole bike or refund your money, if you're
not happy with what the supplier is offering I suggest you seek legal advise
on rejecting it, perhaps through the Citizens Advise Bureau.
