and still water tastes like I am drinking out of a inner tube

Camelback makes a cleaner. I dont know how well it works. Hot water before the ride seems to have
always done the job for me. -

soap and still water tastes like I am drinking out of a inner tubeThis is a pretty common question. Search groups.google.com for more answers, but my suggestion:
Tequila.
That's right, rinse it with tequila, maybe even let it sit overnight. Just make sure there's none
left when you drink from it.--

There's pleny of stuff to be found using Google Groups advanced search
- <http://www.google.com/advanced_group_search?hl=en>Search-words such as after taste, aftertaste, camelback, bottle (I'm sure you can think of more)
will help. Also, IIRC, there have been quite a few threads over the years in the uk.rec.cycling NG.Personally, I use baking soda but no soap. OK, I do use soap once in a while (IN THE BOTTLE!) but I
find the soapy aftertaste far harder to get rid of than anything else. Someone in ths NG mentioned
tequila a few days ago. I'm not sure that an hydration pack full of tequila would be a good idea -
or a cheap one, for that matter.Regards James

Just a little bit in water cleaned out a sun-screen tube so I now have a honey flask with a flip-up
spout. (It holds a half cup of honey and fits neatly into a jersey pocket.)

Thanks for the info! I got suggestions from denture cleaner to Jack Daniels. One of them should work

I use vanilla essence.... gets rid of the taste, and doesn't taste unpleasant itself.....
