Hitchy said:G'day all,
a mate has been told, (by his LBS),that in order to change his Chorus 10 cluster from 11-23 to 12-
25, he needs to buy a whole new cluster. Can he just buy the individual cogs that he
needs?....being a died in the wool Shimano man, I have no clues on Campy stuff. Any help would be
appreciated,
He doesn't need to buy a complete cluster. There are charts on the Campag website that show exactly
which cogs and spacers go to make up each cassette.
Briefly, he'll need a new 12, 16-17, 19-21, 23-25 plus new I and L spacers (1 each), plus maybe a
new lockring. The new 12 has ridges to fit with the lockring. In the 11-23 Chorus, the 16 cog is a
single, and the 17-19 and 21-23 cogs are doubles.
The next trick is to find someone who stocks the parts.
Centaur and Veloce cassettes are cheaper, but a bit heavier.
