  2. I'm not sure what to think about all of this. The new crank design is cool, and the brakes look good.(at least in silver, what's up with all of this black paint?) They really made a mess of Centaur though. Now more Century Grey, no more cup and cone hubs, and enough carbon to make Chorus look even more redundant.

  3. I can't wait till it hits the US market. I know what I'm spending holiday money on for myself ......:p

  4. Where did you see them say no more cup nd cone hubs? They'd be crazy to change thier bearings system, best rolling hubs out there. I want to see more about thier wheels for next year.

  5. Well, it is nice to know that all my carbon components are now mainstream.... 🙄

No upgrades necessary for me in 2007, and I still have a preference to the old style bottom bracket. You can always find a crank.

  6. All that stuff looks impressive. If I have spare money, that's what it'll go towards! lol

  7. Now if we just get them to get rid of the damn thumb lever shifter design, we could have a decent product! :p

That's the best part of the ergo levers, it's much easier to downshift when climbing out of the saddle or sprinting. 🙂

Those look like the same cartridge bearings as Veloce. The Record hubs appear to still have the same bearings, but with a more machined down lock nut. I'm glad I didn't wait until next year to build up a wheel set with Record hubs, since the new shape, black paint, and lack of a perfectly useless grease port makes them look awful.

  10. Ok, I just pulled the trigger on the 07 Veloce gruppo at the Italian online retailer at rullobike.comframeset.php

Good groupp replacement for the "EVIIL" current Asian grouppo I have on my winter bike. I'll write more when I get it and build up my winter bike. 🙂 🙄 😎 :p

How much to ship to you in CO from Italy??

  12. Per the charge $56.89 USD via UPS. Not bad considering the distance.

  13. Now People with Centaur will laugh at people with Dura-Ace due to the apparent lack of carbon and claim that veloce is 'better' than Dura-ace as has happened with chorus. AGH Campag is taking over the world!!! All Shimano has to do now is add a bit of carbon.....

  14. I don't know if it is going to over take the world. Shimano still has a very large slice of the OEM market, and as a result parts and repairs are far easier for thier gear (in asia pacific anyway).
Most people who choise campy do it at the high end, the lower end stuff really only gets used in Europe.

I love my 04 centaur (5500kms+), but my next bike is going to be ultegra simply because its easier to swap wheels with my girl friends bike and other people and repairs and parts are easier to come by (the local campy importer is next to hopeless)

That said........I BADLY want to put the 07 centaur on! The brakes look amazing, the alloy cranks even look great, carbon levers super cool. I'm not fussed about the carbon cage on the derailer, could have left that as chorus only. I'd love to get a complete weight listing and compare it to ultegra. Centuar fell behind ultegra on weight becuase of the cranks mostly

I don't know all of the weight specs, but campyonly.com posted this comparisson with the Shimano groups:
