Well, there is a subsect called "Cycling Equipment", just in case you hadn't noticed. < snip >

It's always intriguing to me when folks ask for opinions on safety, value, etc...AFTER purchasing an item rather than BEFORE...to each his own though...

Anyway, haven't tried the wheels but it appears all is well after your short ride - they didn't vaporize to molecular matter...good luck...

Well, no I haven't, but I'm curious how heavy they are, I've never been sure on how much weight difference there was between carbon or any other material. Do you know the weight?

To me, if they are sturdy, look right, don't weigh a ton, and spin freely they are a fine set of wheels. Plus they look like a half "zipp" type, so probably a bit of good aerodynamics there.

There is another forum "about road bike reviews"; do a search; there are a few threads on carbon rims and feedback on their wheel builds... Most are selling just the rims; ask a lot of questions, some are "carbon wrap".
I think they are about 3 or 4 Ebay sellers; you can also look at their feedback...

Ride them and let us know. Most carbon wheels and rims come fromChina these days, the market is awash with them, just the decals change(and the price).

Made in china hubs, bearings, carbon rim, 'maybe' brand name spokes, assembled in a factory. They may be fine and dandy, 'probably' use a standard size bearing(hopefully, the weak point is probably the bearings in the hubs, and the build quality) It might not be a bad idea to have a good WHEELBUILDER check true, roundm dish and tension before you ride them too much.

That's how places like Neuvation does it.

They are decent wheels, but it depends what you are using them for? if you're needing a good race set then I would save and invest in HED wheels they are also built in the East but they will have better hubs and better carbon. Wheels are the heart of the bike and you should not skimp there. Also try Williams wheels, and I have a really nice set of Torelli Carbon Aspects they roll really nice, but they are on the heavy side.

Small point, but IMHO, the 'heart' of the bicycle is the frame, not the wheels.
Wheels are mostly there to get you there, as is most of the other 'bolt on' stuff of the bicycle.

OK so i went for a 25km ride on the 50mm wheels yesterday, and all seems good. I have built a few wheels in my time (no expert though) and did a quick check over the spoke tension and bearings with everything ok so far. I also checked for any fractures in the carbon and the hubs with everything looking ok. The wheels are still true with no hops. I have been using shimano RS eighty's carbon/alloy, and the carbon wheels perform just as well if not better. I am no pro so it will take me a few more rides to get some real comparisons down in writing. I dont plan on racing with these wheels they are purely a training wheel.

The weights of the wheels are as follows:

38mm full carbon clincher: 1507g without skewer
50mm full carbon clincher: 1559g without skewer

The wheel sets come with titanitum skewers, from memory they weight roughly 50g for the front and 52g for the rear.

i got mine through a friend who importer of bicycle parts.

I havent had any problems with them so far (200km) lets hope they hold up for a while.
