My wife filled it in and put me down as cycling, so I had to ride in the p!ssing rain, I would have anyway, but it's not the point!!!

The fact that motorcycles and scooters don't seem to be considered legitimate motorised transport [censored] me off. I use my Vespa to get everywhere. Don't own a car.

While I'm at it, what's up with this bloody LPG subsidy?! How about chucking at bit of "free" money at bicycles and motorbikes!

Car ownners are getting truck loads money to fit LPG to there cars, wheres ours to buy a more efficinet bike? on the other hand when all is done and dusted the price of LPG will increase ---- SUCKERS!

I am unemployed and use my bike to to go places. No question on the census ask if I use my bicycle as my main transport.

What percentage of people who commuted by bicycle to work on census day, rode to work today?

Why does John Howard not offer money to cyclists to improve their bike or get a new bike? Riding a bike is much healthier then sitting in a car that uses petrol or LPG.

I ride to work most days, my rule is to get the bus one Friday every two weeks, that at least gets me a day out of the saddle as I ride every other day of the week (I hate the bus though and end up staring out the window at the riders going faster than us on the adjacent bikepath!). Not only that I'm training Tuesday and Thursday so covering more kms.

No doubt if they start giving us rebates they'd also start charging us rego - just a cynical thought!!!!

It's the 17th of August, and my unit's census form is still on the side-table.
No-one's come to collect it yet.
What's the point in filling it out when the form doesn't get collected.
BTW In my unit, the answers were cycling & public transport.

Well we didn't get our form until the morning of the census, so I reckon it won't be collected for another week yet. According to the ABS website, collection will continue until August 28th, so I wouldn't get too excited about the fact that it hasn't been collected yet.

We've had the census collector come by 4 times so far & we haven't been home for any of them.

They've finally got the idea and left us an envelope to send it in by mail.

I wanted to greet the census collector at the door,with a tin of fava beans in one hand and a nice chianti in the other while wearing a hockey mask,but I was overruled.
Census collectors probably don't find that sort of thing funny...but I would have found it funny enough for both of us.

That gas like has been said it is stupid cos it means LPG will just go up with demand afterall LPG stands for Liquid Petrolum Gas. Imagin if that 1.6 billion yes 1.6 billion was spent on bikeway thru our cities.
