I have a problem I'm looking for advice on. When I freewheel the cassette catches slightly causing the chain to go slack on top momentarily dropping it on to the chainstay before it releases. I notice when pushing the bike forwards the cranks go round too instead of staying put. If I back peddle slightly it releases with just a little pressure. It seams to me that this sticking is at about the same place on the cassette. I've tried lubricating but it doesn't seem to cure it. Any suggestions?

What he said. Plus, I once managed to knacker my derailleur bigtime by this; I stopped pedalling whilst going sharpishly fast, and it sucked the chain around, yanking the derailleur against its limit and then beyond.

You can *try* removing it and flushing it out with a very light oil. It's quite hard to get enough in there even after you've removed the seal at the back.

My campaign to free hub body (later known as 'free the shimano nine'😉 was faulty too 8-( ..........That's indifference for you. The wisest thing to do was to start with a new one. So I did. 'Free Wheel Hub'. 'Free Wheel Hub'! Sean.
