I like being able to test my daughters BG regularly but it ticks me off that there isn't a cheeper way. Test strips are running me $78.00 per 100ct. We're using One Touch Ultra. We like how fast and easy it is but wondered if there was a better way. What are you guys paying?

Mine are covered by insurance. So I pay something like $11 for 100 strips, until I meet my catastrophic cap for the year and then they are free.

I see OldAl mentioned hocks and walmart, so I'll mention eBay.com. You can typically get accu chek comfort curve sticks for about 1/2 of cost at Walmart. Last night I won an auction for 9 vials (17 sticks/vial) for accu chek compact for $26 total price. You can get ripped off on ebay.

I use Relion meters(1 at home, 1 for away)and have been satisfied with it except I can't find a glucose control solution.
