Did you look under the bottom bracket shell?

  3. yup, looked everywhere on the frame....it is definitely not on the outside as far as i can tell. it there is one, i'm guessing it is internal somewhere, which is not something i have seen before.

  4. check also the rear dropouts (the insides) and under the chainstays.

    cdr

  5. Worst scenario is it's a stolen bike with the SN filed off.

  6. i had a cinelli unica, and i'm sure the only frame number of any description was a hologram sticker at the top of the seat tube (just below seatstay junction), with a 4 digit number on it.

  7. Why don't you contact Cinelli directly (or the importer in your country) to see if they can help you?

  8. thanks for all the replies and i did get in touch with cinelli directly and they told me after checking around that not all the frames that year (which is 2002) had serial numbers. there were 2 different frame suppliers apparently and so there it is.....phew!

    thanks again!

  9. Excellent. Good to hear that all worked out for the best!
