  1. Cinnamon tastes good. Period. It may help some people a
little. It may not. It's certainly not a "cure" or even much
of an aide according to the majority of the posts. But it
    tastes good..... Nan, Type 2

  2. It makes the kitchen smell good too, if you're cooking the
food you put it in! bj

I thought so too, but now I'm getting sick of it. I ordered
one of those capsule makers that Jennifer has and have
loaded them up with the powdered stuff. Have been taking
that for a few days now and while waiting for that to come,
was drinking tea with cinnamon bark in it. Either way, the
cinnamon taste sticks with me all day long! If I lick my
lips, I taste cinnamon. I'm beginning to realize that it
wasn't the roll and the gooey icing that attracted me to
cinnamon rolls, but the cinnamon itself!

I'm starting to feel like I did when I went on that diet (pre-
diabetes) with the chocolate diet bars. I ate them for
breakfast and lunch and then a sensible dinner. After two
week's time, not only had I gained weight rather than lost,
I was so sick of chocolate that I didn't eat any for months.
But now it's cinnamon I'm getting sick of. I wouldn't think
I'd be tasting it while taking it in pill form, but I am!

Years ago, before they came out with those little potpourri
pots, I'd put a pan of water on the stove and boil some
cinnamon in it. Or if I had the oven on already, I'd throw a
bit of it on the floor of the oven. People always thought I

That's a matter of taste Nan. I can't STAND the stuff and I
can detect it in food that's still in plastic wrapping. The
wife loves it, but unfortunately (for her), it's banned from
our house. Well it's either ban cinammon or watch me puking
and I know which she prefers:-)

even when they're no-where near the stuff. They smell worse

I'd heard that about garlic but not about cinnamon. I eat a
lot of it (well, twenty shakes or so on cereal every morning
and about as much on something else late most days) and I've
never noticed or had anyone else say they've noticed a
    cinnamon smell around me.

One time, years ago, a pal and myself discovered that if you
briefly drop garlic bulbs into boiling water they become
incredibly nice and nutty to eat "as is" with no garlicky
"bite" to them .... and we ate a lot of it/them like that ..

Took a week before we stopped literally oozing garlic pong

Probably because most people (ignoring Beav for a moment)
find the "aftersmell" of cinnamon much nicer than that of
    garlic ...

I'm with Beav. My wife uses it but not in/on food

Mine came home recently with some cakes. I walked in the
front door and immediately said "Have you been eating
cinammon or have you defied me and dared to let it enter
    my house":-)

She didn't know the cakes had cinammon in, because she
didn't read the label. Well they were never destined for my
plate so she didn't bother checking for sugar content (or
    anything else for that matter).

I still wouldn't let her eat them when I was around.

I suspect you've got a real problem reading and a real
problem with humour too. (Smileys tend to give most folk a
clue as to the seriousness, or otherwise of a
comment/statement. And you should never extrapolate
without at least a LITTLE more information. It makes you
    look like a fool.

And I DO give a tinkers, but as in all partnerships,
sometimes agreement isn't going to happen. When that
situation arises at my place, and there's no more room for
manoeuvre, *I* make the decision, and whether you like it or
not, that's how it is. If the wife didn't accept this, she'd
have been long gone, but guess what, she's not. Why's that

    Hi Beav

You are obviously a sad victim of a rare allergy in which
even faint traces of cinnamon fumes cause significant
psychotic problems, evinced by delusions of grandeur.

    Tripod? What I say goes???

I can see why she tries not to bring cinnamon into the
