If you decide to keep riding with the Home Depot glasses, try putting a
drop of dishwashing detergent on each side of both lenses and rub it in
well until it's polished clear. This reduces fogging and is just as
good as some of the high dollar goops they sell.

great optics. no fog. no top bar to obscure your vision in the "go
faster" position. even if it wasn't for the price, these are still much
better than any "cycling" glasses i've ever used.

An old diver's trick I used to use on my mask was to spit on it and
rub it around. I've used that on nasty, rainy rides as well (though
on my glasses - I don't wear a dive mask when cycling). A bit
unsavory (make sure no one will be horrified - the fair sex might find
it a bit off-putting), but it does work fairly well in a pinch.

I forgot to add that you can also use bar soap for the same purpose.
Rub an "X" on each lens inside and out, then polish it off.

immortal at the time

Rain-X on *both* sides of the lens.

I've been doing this for maybe 15 years, on higher quality lenses, both
plastic and glass, particularly for winter/rainy riding.

Keeps the rain running off the outside and the fog from accumulating (much)
on the inside. I always wash them in hot water after applying and
polishing, just to make sure the stuff doesn't get into my eyes. After the
wash it lasts for 2-3 months in the crud.

I've found simple well formed safety glasses typically sold at like
Home Depot, or Lowes, works well. The wrap around the face, and are
cheap. As for the fogging issue, I use Fog-X. I bought a bottle a
while back and found it worked on my car, so it had to work on my
glasses. It does, just don't be cheap about it. 🙂
