Clicking in bottom bracket?

Dude, its very simple and not worth paying a LBS for (I was charged $A30 once).

The click is coming from your BB spindle and crank. You need to remove the crank and put some grease on the BB spindle.

You will need a crank puller and maybe a pin if you have a holow BB.

Seems to be a common problem. I seem to notice it more on the climb and/or heavy exertion as opposed to a smoother spin. Q on the repair: Do you need to take out the BB to lube or can you do it while installed in the frame?

My problem is, this has only been happening (noticeably) for a couple of days, and it seems like its gradually getting worse...its disconcerting enough that I stopped and walked the bike home 4km because it started clicking significantly.

The bike is still new, so I intend to take it back to the shop and get it checked out, but I'm trying to ascertain if its my fault in anyway...I doubt it, since I've been using it as a normal road bike...but I dont know 🙁

My guess is the Bottom Bracket has come loose in the shell.

Dude! it just isn't always that simple! And it Just isn't always the spindle needing grease. The BB could be bad and the clicking could be something else.

Current cartridge BB can have the spindle lubed while in the frame. They have to be removed to do anything else,and are not servicable (some campy and DA excepted)other than greasing threads to stop creaking.

Is not likely you did anything to it. Stuff happens.Let the LBS sort it out. You muck around with it,and it just clouds the issue of who is responsible.

I agree, get the bike checked out at the LBS. It could be something as simple as a bad peddle. $30 is a small expense to pay versus geting a new BB.

gotta agree with Boudreaux on this one. Get the LBS to check it out. I once spent quite a number of frustrating hours with the BB in pieces relubbing etc in search of a mysterious creak.....only to discover it was actually a pedal requiring some oil!,

I had clicking from the Bottom bracket on a trek 9500 carbon mtb. After taking it to 4 different bike shops over a period of two years it turned out to be a crack in the frame around the BB. This is a some what rare problem however. So again prob a good idea to let the LBS figure it out.
