DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS UNDER STEALTH GLOBAL ATTACK

WHAT YOU MUST DO TO DEFEND YOUR ACCESS

    ©- 2005 By John C. Hammell, President

    International Advocates for Health Freedom

Want to maintain your access to amino acids and the other dietary
supplements you need to be a competitive or recreational body builder?

What if I told you that there is a stealth, global agenda driven by Big
Pharma to take over and destroy the dietary supplement industry,
    including the American industry?

What if I told you the vitamin trade associations are being controlled
by pharmaceutical interests, which have been effectively leading into a
    TRAP?

    LISTEN UP-

The UN's Codex Alimentarius Commission will hold its 28th General
Session in Rome, Italy between April 4-9th, 2005. At this meeting, a
group of unelected bureaucrats, primarily from the world's FDA's
will ratify a framework for a mindlessly restrictive global trade
standard for vitamins and minerals which can be forced on all of us via
an insidious process known as "globalization and harmonization of the
laws" as an effort ensues to create a carbon copy of the EU in our
hemisphere called the "Free Trade Area of the Americas" as a
    prelude to global totalitarian government.

(A World Health Organization committee chaired by a US FDA employee
named Christine Lewis Taylor is in a process of filling in the blanks
on allowable potency levels with the following numbers: B-1: 1.3 mg,
    B-2: 4.5 mg, Beta Carotene: 4 mg, Vitamin D: 5 mg, B-6: 5.4 mg, B-12:
9mg, Vitamin E- 15 mg (synthetic form only allowed), B-3 (Niacin) 17 mg
B-5 (Pantothenic Acid) 18 mg, Biotin 180 mcg, Vitamin C 225 mg. TABLE:

    WHO "Nutrient Risk Assessment Project"
    http://www.who.int/ipcs/highlights/nutrientraproject/en/

They haven't yet "done" amino acids and other nutrients
particularly favored by body builders but they'll crank out junk
science "maximum safe permitted levels" for them the same way.

    WHATS GOING ON

The vitamin trade associations are politically dominated by their
biggest companies are quite prepared to sell out consumers and to water
down their products to the point of ineffectiveness provided that they
get what THEY want (one set of regulations for the planet so they
don't have to formulate different products, with different labels,
    for different countries- see
    http://www.thelawloft.com/Freedom/050125_us_law.htm)

    WHAT YOU CAN DO:

On April 13th, Senator Grassley (R-Iowa) will be holding a hearing on
CAFTA (Central American Free Trade Agreement). CAFTA would expand NAFTA
throughout central America. Language contained in NAFTA and the WTO
requires the US to enter into a constant process of harmonizing our
    laws to international standards.

Within 90 days of this hearing, Congress will hold a "FA$T TRACK"
vote on CAFTA. Under FA$T track rules, NO DEBATE IS ALLOWED

    NO DEBATE??

Unless, of course, we tell congress in sufficiently large numbers that
we're not buying it, and make their phones ring off the hook and some
fax machines run out of paper and INK so they can't get any OTHER
    "business" done....

HOW DOES CAFTA TAKE MY AMINO ACIDS?

By itself, it doesn't but it's a precursor for something even MORE
insidious: FTAA, the "Free Trade Area of the Americas" which
expands NAFTA from the Arctic Circle to Tierra del Fuego (Southern tip
of Argentina) to serve as the vehicle for the creation of an equivalent
to the EU in our hemisphere as a prelude to a world dictatorship.

    HOW TO STOP CODEX

    1. Visit http://www.stoptheftaa.org and utilize the information
there to communicate with your senators and congressmen. All can be
reached via the Capital Switchboard at 202-225-3121. Tell them you
TOTALLY OPPOSE CAFTA, and the FTAA. Fax this to them, get fax numbers
from http://www.senate.gov and http://www.house.gov Also email it in
via the forms on their website.

Tell them that in the UK, despite over a million vitamin consumers
signing a petition against harmonizing to the mindless EU Food
Supplement Directive, the ruling Labor Party in the UK totally ignored
them taking the view that "it didn't matter" how many people
signed the petition, the UK is a member of the EU, so they were hell
bent to harmonize UK law to the EU. We don't WANT America to be
subsumed into the FTAA the way the UK is being subsumed into the EU. We
    VALUE our FREEDOM.

Actually, the only thing that is under global attack is the making of
    low-quality supplements and false advertising.

Would that this were true!!! To the extent this is part of the law,
    it's potentially great.

It's the limiting of vitamin and mineral levels in a multi to such LOW
levels and requiring prescriptions, etc. that makes me nervous. In
Europe, people have access to better healthcare and so maybe that's
less of a problem. Here in the US, I have no heatlhcare--can't afford
    it.

If they take away my ability to access nutrients and botanical
medicine, I worry what will happen to my hepatitis C.

If they had Codex AND we had a good, robust single payer healthcare
system, it would be much better.

Thanks for the website. I hear a Belgian judge recently declared the
    CODEX unlawful?

You're making the false assumption that supplements are a substitute for
real medical care. They aren't. Although I am sorry that you don't have
health care, that fact is irrrelevent.

    I don't know.

But, apparently, supplements are not limited by the RDAs of the supplements:

Perhaps an hidden agenda in order to get people voting for a president
that put public health care on the agenda??

I am not making any assumptions. I'm trying to survive. I can afford
some supplements. I have seen they have an impact on my health. I am
trying to stay healthy. Would I like to have healthcare? You bet.

But in the meantime, the fact I do not have healthcare IS totallly
    relevant.

In the end, what I would like to see is a rational, comprehensive and
effective single payer healthcare program that controls costs AND
    covers dietary supplements.

Nor should they be. The RDAs are pretty arbitrary.

LOL.. I wish we had a candidate! Hillary screwed that up and I don't
trust her farther than I could throw her.

Bush, of course, is a much greater horror and a genuine global
disaster. For example, Bush is destroying Medicare with his giveaway
to pharma on the "drug benefit" without even the ability to negotiate
drug pricing, as, for example, the Veterans' Administration has.
