  1. Title says it all, I'm goig to be in Derbyshire between xmas and new
year and was wondering if anyone knew of any good rides round there?
We'll probably be doing the tissington and high peak trails, and the
manifold valley somewhere along the way, any other suggestions?

  2. Carsington Water is another easy trail like the ones you said.

If you're riding the high peak trail and the ground is frozen, you can
make it into a loop from Cromford. You need the OS map for Matlock (or
    some printouts off streetmap.co.uk)

Go up the High Peak Trail. Then head to this descent which will be a
    laugh on a coker. http://tinyurl.com/yfbfo2

You can then go from there to Youlgreave on road, where there is a nice
pub/fish & chip shop, to Alport, then north and east to Haddon Hall,
bridleways to Rowsley, to Beeley, Limetree wood, Northwood, then on
road to Darley Dale, then the road on the east of the river from
Matlock to get you back to Cromford where the High Peak Trail starts.
It's all cokerable as long as the ground is hard, some steep bits,
maybe a bit of a walk on a couple of uphills.

Don't do this if it's not nice and frosty though, as the bridleways
will be minging on a coker.

On the offchance you'll have a muni, there is some nice muni riding
round there too, tends to have a bit of road involved, but you get good
    stuff in between.

  3. I'm not too far from Derbyshire. Let me know where and when you're
riding and I may be able to come along... If you fancy another rider in
    your possee that is.

  4. Hey guys, sorry for the delayed reply, I've got one of the routes
sorted, we're staying a few hundred yards from the southern end of the
tissington trail, I believe north of Ashbourne. We're coming down
morning of the 28th, riding that afternoon, all the next day, and the
morning of the day after (30th). We average somewhere betwen 10 and
11mph and hopeing to hit over 40 miles on the middle day, and maybe
around 25 miles on each of the other days, just to give you an idea,
but these could change dramatically. i realise this is probably going
to be pretty easy going for STM, is that ok with you Mr. Boogie Juice?
(sorry i have no idea how much you ride 36). Would be good to coker
with people other than the two of us, oh and my dad who'll be biking
    with us.

  5. Ah, that's really bad timing. I've just found out that I have to work
in London on 28th and 29th, so probably won't be back in time for the
    trip on 30th either 🙁

Have a good trip anyway, and I look forward to reading a write up of it
    early in the new year.
