"On the larger scale, people still want to know who's racing and who's going to be fun to watch. But they might take people's successes with a grain of salt." Two years after Lance Armstrong climbed off his bike, cycling has a mess on its hands. Positive tests, doping allegations _ nobody, not even Armstrong, has been immune. The Tour de France, cycling's premier event, is less than two months away, and we still don't know who won last year. That's because 2006 Tour winner Floyd Landis is huddled with his attorneys in a Malibu courtroom trying to prove his innocence on doping charges. So far, it's been less-than-scintillating stuff unless you're a nut for carbon-isotope ratios, 5-alpha adiol and abnormal testosterone profiles. Read more

It is ufortunate that so many people neglect to question the allegations made against Landis.

Firstly, there exists an inherent hatred of Americans within much of the European community (a statistical fact). American riders have been victorious for the past several years; the pessimists and haters reak of jealousy. Thusly, a deep-rooted bias is evident and unquestionable.

We have already witnessed the attempts to destroy Armstong - false testimonies, French tabloid journalists attempting to break into his hotel room in order to plant drugs (which were found in the journalists' gear), etc.,etc.,etc.

The testing facility responsible for testing Tour riders has been found guilty of multiple ethics violations - an unbiased, third-party test was never issued.

multiple other riders have been outed without question, yet Landis is the scourge?! give me a break

To put this in layman's term's, "something stinks," and it isn't Floyd Landis
