I'll bet all takers that I make soup. Roasted turkey breast meat,
ginger, mushrooms, lime juice, chipotle, cilantro and soba noodles
might be the thing. Crazy cold demands crazy soup.
It's "cold" here, too, temp perception being a relative thing. That
is, it's in the 50's, whereas a week or so ago it was in the high 70's.
Mine's gonna be like yours but a little different: poached chicken
breast meat, ginger, mushrooms, scallions, lime juice, a few drops of
sesame oil, egg noodles (from a bag) and a garnish of cilantro. And
I'll probably go pull a couple of carrots and zap them to precook them
a little before adding. Made with the last of the current batch of
chicken stock.
Cold weather calls for stock making, too! The high in Cow Hill a few
days ago was in the 80s. The high the next day didn't break 45. The
high today was forecast to be 33. I don't think we made it, though.
Not much precipitation, but what we got was in a solid form.

Soup is a good Sunday night thing. I had a college roommate whose
Sunday night supper when he was growing up was always tomato soup and
popcorn. It fit their budget of that time and was filling.... -aem
I seldom make soup, but tonight it was what the doctor ordered. I
posted a picture to rfc in another thread.
