Creaking rear wheel...

I've tried placing prolink on the eyelet area, where the spokes cross
and at the head of each spoke and still no luck. I'm about to get the
wheelset rebuild just to get ride of this annonying sound. Any help
would be greatly appreciated...

You have another problem if on a new wheel a spoke broke...

'May' not be the wheel but something else that would creak at the same
frequency..or the hub(which hubs?) or the rim(which rims?)...

Hubs are Tune Mag 190's and the rim is an Alex R400

My solution to creaky (crappy, IMHO) Alex wheels was a set of Bontrager
Race wheels (not the Race Lites or the Race X Lites--those were too spendy
for me).

Creaks are gone. Wheels going out of true if you *look* at a bump are
gone. For a rider my size (172# -- 78kg), these Bontragers are very
solid, and they are solid without being heavy (yeah, they have the aero
spoke pattern that retro-grouches hate, but they just *work* for me).

I spent $400 on the set at my LBS, which included a free re-truing after
the first month's use. That, IMHO, was a better deal than getting the A/C
fixed in my car (it's still not fixed).

It is called "paired spokes"... they are not aero.

I don't know that they did. It was a service the LBS offered--a one
month checkup, so I availed myself of it.

They have been solid, and haven't been back to the LBS (they haven't
needed it). I have a year of Western PA (i.e., not necessarily smooth)
backroads on these and they have stayed true. Contrast this with the Alex
wheels, which went out of true at least monthly.
