  1. Medium green artichokes $3.00/ea.???

Squeaky fresh but... not for medium-sized artichokes!!!

For the first time, I even saw large artichokes with one foot stems! What's
    that all about?

The harvest must seriously suck this season OR the growers are taking a page
    from the oil companies.

    It's a crime I tell ya!!! 🙁

My exMIL used to gripe about the price of artichokes being so
high for Easter. Maybe they'll be cheaper in the next circular, bein'
    Easter's passed.

I was hoping that was going to be the case with eggs, but a new sales week
started today, and they are still $3.29 a dozen. I guess I'm not going to be
    making any artichoke souffles! ;-)

They're $1 apiece at most of our local grocery chains this week
    and quite nice.

The stems are suppossed to be edible. I bought 3 of them a few months
ago, and was not impressed. The outer layer of the stem was really
stringy, so we could only eat the very middle of it- pencil sized.
TJ's is a good place for artichokes sometimes.
