'Cross Crankset/Chainring Question

_ Shouldn't be. Most cross bikes have 68mm English BB's, not the
73mm common on MTB bikes.

_ Salsa seems fine to me, any road rings will work with 8 speed
chain. Are you racing or just getting muddy? If you're racing I'd
think hard about going with just one ring up front. The Ultegra
front derailler is designed for larger big rings, so you might
have less crisp front shifting than you are used to.

'May' see the small ring hit the chainstay. hard to say. These stays
are really wide for a fat tire. If it does, a XTR in 112.5 'may' work
altho the left side then may hit the stay. Ohh, I see an '8s' ultegra,
which is sqaure taper-if it does, with the 113mm spindle, just get a
UN-series of 118mm.
