WELSH cycling star Nicole Cooke eased her Olympic heartache with a devastating season-opening victory in Italy. Cooke out-sprinted her fellow climbers Nicole Brandli (Switzerland) and Modesta Vzesniauskaite (Lithuania) at the top of a gruelling 5km final climb to win the Trofeo Citta di Rosignano.
