  1. Someone's been fiddling with settings here and somehow permanently
deleted a whole raft of posts from various NGs. Naturally, since I
hadn't bothered to 'protect' it, one of these if the one from Phil with
the grid ref of the campsite in Capel Curig in it... Someone remind me
    please? Thanks.

The one I'm going to turn up at on Boxing Day in the hope of meeting
Judith and Ian? It's in the vicinity of the YHA at SH726579

If it happens again, remember you can find the whole of recorded Usenet
    history via groups.google.com.

Excellent. Thanks. I'll be there at some stage, and possibly Thomas.
Charlie's still undecided and I don't want to bring either of the two
youngest ones if it's just me because as much as I love them I really
can't be bothered to have to watch over smallish children the whole
time. Thomas can be quite sensible at times though, so he shouldn't be
too much of a problem. We shall see.

I know, but it's such a faff trying to work out where and how to locate
stuff. I don't know, there's something about Google Groups that makes
    my blood run cold.

Not quite the whole history, there are some people who set the
no-archive attribute so google doesn't keep anything 🙁

That's why I said 'recorded history'. I should have said 'publicly
recorded' since of course the NSA, CIA, FBI, CGHQ, KBG and sundry others
have their own private archives (and if you think =they= pay any
attention to X-No-Archive, apart from upping the 'interestingness score'
on those posts, I have some building land in Florida you might like to
    buy...)
