Interesting to see when these (and Garmin/Vector) hit the market and at what price. It seems that despite seemingly simple technology producing a commercially capable power meter is quite a difficult task.

Yup. I think the devil in power meter details is in characterizing their power meters and in the data processing and smoothing.
