  1. Ok, not only do they draft behind your a_ _, so you can't out run them. They
    bite like a mother and DEET doesn't seem to work. What's the secret to repeal
    these blood suckers?

    I like to tape mini fly-swatters to various body parts. Gives me sort of a
    funny looking cadence, I guess, but gets the job done.

    Dunno, but they were so bad in one area of the lake where I used to paddle a
    surf ski, that I'd bring a long-sleeved wind shirt just in case...

    I tried garlic pills for a while to aid in circulation or some such.
    They're horrible! Once I'd digested the coating, my insides would burn
