I like the way you think, Keith. I really do. Come over here and sit
by me.It's 1:30 and I've done the two pints of bean pickles for the Fair.
I've some leftovers sitting in the brine that will be fridge-stored
without processing.The boiled dirt chunks were boiled and peeled last night and I think I
over-cooked them, so I have a nasty feeling that I'm going to be making
them later in the week, when I get more fresh blech. I may pour some
sort of brine over what I cooked yesterday and give them to someone as a
gift. I can think of two people who offered to take last year's Fair
jars off my hands so I don't think getting rid of them will be a
problem. They may not be like Aunt June's (June Cleaver), but they'll
probably be better than what Aunt Nellie sells. I haven't tasted the
greens I cooked.All of this seems to leave me with a plan to visit Surly Table. I don't
have any money to spend right now so it might well be a fortuitous time
to pay them a call. :-)Gotta stay sober for tonight's pork chops, though. I'm thinking grilled
chops, parsleyed new potatoes, and green beans (not the pickled ones).
