Just found out about cannoli and had one, although they are amazing I dont think its the same, the cannoli I had was not waffle cone and no chocolate covering the ends. Thanks for the suggestion though
Cannolis can have choc. ends. The shell is thicker than a waffle cone and it is filled with a heavy sugar paste with a certain flavouring. Sounds like someone Baskin and Robbins-ized a cannoli. blacksalt
I am hoping someone can help with the limited info I can give. A few years back someone had brought a treat into work, and they were wonderful. The problem I have is I have no idea what they were called and cant find them anywhere. They were made with tubular waffle cone filled with a white cream and were chocolate dipped on each end. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

This dessert sounds highly suggestive. Go to your room RIGHT NOW.

I'm thinking of a pizzelle type cookie. I've seen them sold and can't for the life of me remember what they call them. I have a waffle like iron, but it makes a then crisp cookie. I roll it quickly once off the iron. Then I fill with a cream filling and dip the ends in chocolate. I'll keep looking for the one sold at stores. I'm just drawing a blank.

There are tons of recipe variations on cannoli - can be filled with flavored whipped cream, pastry cream, or ricotta concoctions. Ends are frequently, but not always dipped in chocolate. It's possible to buy packaged cannoli shells & is conceivable the waffle cone you remember was a commercial product.

I had an Italian neighbor who made her cannoli with pizzelle that had been rolled around a broom handle after being removed from the iron. She didn't dip them in chocolate, though. I liked her cannoli better than any I've tasted since. Most of the ones I've seen and tasted at Italian restaurants/bakeries/shops have had a strange, pebbly-looking (rather than waffly-pizzelle-looking) shell.
Not sure what the OP is looking for...hey OP, was the tubular thing made out of the same stuff that sugar cones (for ice cream) are made of?

My first thought was Canoli, but these really sound more like Cream Horns to me. Try Googling them and see what you think.
