As I’m looking at resurrecting my dads ’61 Malvern Star which has track ends as a fixed/free roadie (not yet started ), I’ve been checking out the whole fixed gear riding thing with a few reservations on how easily I would go with a fixed gear.
With some comments on this forum about track sessions I searched about & found some info about a ‘Novice Clinic’ at the Blackburn Velodrome (Vic).

I was wondering if anyone on this board has an insight into whether it would be worthwhile for me to hook up with this ‘clinic’ at the velodrome with the view to get a handle on riding fixed gear [for later on the road]?
I currently have a Aust MTB race licence & a member of a MTB club.
Do I need to join a ‘road bike’ club & get a ACF licence if I only intent not to race track? If so what would the cost be?
Are these clinics structured over a fixed period like 3 months or 6 weeks, or can you have a pay-as-you-go thing where you can do as many clinics as you feel like?
