We've had a few posters from India but not that many
"regulars".
That's a bit of a mystery since folks of Indian origin are
reported to have a higher likelihood of Type 2 diabetes than
the folks of European descent who make up the bulk of our
regulars. The Indians seem to be more sensitive to high
Insulin Resistance associated with abdominal fat. Europeans
seem to be able to carry more abdominal fat and "get away
with it" than Indians.
Keep coming back. Reading these posts every night has
resulted in significant improvements in my health, my
quality of life, and, I'm sure, my life expectancy.
Er. . .sorry, but American Indians, Africans, folks from
the Arabian Pennisula and, AFAIK, folks from India really
have to pay attention to this disease; it seems to hit them
a lot harder.
Regards
Old Al

I'm part Cherokee, but I gather from your name, that isn't
the kind of Indian you mean.

You mean, when I envisage you in my mind's eye, I should
think of Cher? I must admit, I doubt you'll find many guys
named "Sanjay" on the reservation:-)
To the OP, welcome to the group. Despite appearances at
times, it is actually an international ng. Unfortunately,
the only regular poster who claims to be Indian (Jai
Maharaj) is actually a troll from Hawaii. So it would be a
refreshing change to meet a real diabetic from the sub-
continent. Apparently, from what I read, the disease is
becoming recognised as a major problem there.
Cheers, Alan, T2 d&e, Australia.
