We've been eating a lot of roasted asparagus lately. I'm almost sick of it. Tonight, we had it with "barbecued" seitan, corn, and store-bought dinner rolls.

Now I'm hungry, and it is all your fault.
I've been grilling a bit of asparagus recently, and I found that you can put them in a glass bread pan and pour garlic butter on them. Very easy to coat without making a big mess. Also, the bread pan makes a convinient dish to serve the asparagus in as well.

Tis the season, I suppose. Tell me about seitan, please.

Mmmmmm! That looks delicious.
Thanks. It was pretty good. I'd post tonight's picture, but I'm bogged down with a big download from Symantec at present. I'm in dialup hell. -- modom

Seitan is wheat gluten, made into a substance that lots of "fake meat" is made of. We like it. I used to make it the hard way, by making a stiff dough of whole-wheat flour and water, then rinsing it forever and a day until the starch rinsed out. Nowadays, I usually buy vital wheat gluten (a powder) and make it that way. Easy, but it's also available for more money pre-made.
