It sounds gross on first thought... but then it's not really a PIZZA
at all - it's a family-sized meat pie that's been run over by a
steamroller! -

Seems most Aussies think the same way. Dominos "bright idea" is turning
into a dud.If we want a meat pie, we'll damn well go and *get* a meat pie!!

Domino's is not real pizza.
It's an attempt at pizza, same as Pizza Hut, Eagle Boys etc, etc.
The best pizzas in town are either homemade at my place, or Panchos in
Oxford Street, Bulimba :-)Come to think of it......... I'm going to do pizza and roated garlic and
cheese calzones for Cinco de Mayo :-)That, along with some beer in green bottles will make for a nice day.

Peter, would you care to share your pizza crust recipe? I'm literally
dying to make some pizza and I'm gathering crust ideas. No worries. Mine's just a basic pizza dough that is ready to used after
about 10mins.I've invited friends around for a pizza/garlic&cheese calzone/red wine
night and they have been quite shocked that they could sit there
drinking red wine and watch me make (the best pizzas around,
apparently!!) it from scratch to the table in 25mins!!I'll just go down to the kitchen and rummage around for the recipe...
I've got it written down somewhere......!!Be back in a tick.

dying to make some pizza and I'm gathering crust ideas.Found it!! Splattered with red wine and tomato sauce stains, but still
legible :-)Basic Pizza Dough
2-1/4 cups plain flour
1 packet *active* dry yeast (not Instant, it must be active)
1/4 teaspoon sugar (I just use white)
1 cup warm water
2 tablespoons oil (I use olive oil)Put water, yeast, and sugar in a container, mix, and then cover and
place in a warm spot.Sift flour into a large bowl. When water has foamed, pour into flour,
add the oil and mix. When it forms a dough, put onto floured surface and knead for 10mins
till smooth and elastic.Cut into two to make two pizza bases, or one pizza base and two large
calzones.I usually put it on a pizza tray in the oven (once covered with
toppings!!) for the first 10 or so minutes, then when it's 3/4 cooked, I
slip it off the tray straight onto the wire oven racks to brown the base
properly. One of these days I'll get myself a pizza stone!!--

Any idea what sort of flour "plain flour" is? I would think
you'd use a high-protein bread flour for pizza, but what do
I know.Steve

ago...I oiled it like the directions said and put it into the oven
(again as per instructions) and it craked into two peices in the oven.--

Over here we have plain flour, and self raising flour.
At a guess, I'd say your all purpose flour is plain flour.
And, Yep......... I'm right :-)
