Saw them in Decathlon (Stockport) on Sunday and toyed with the idea.
They do look OK but I would have preferred them made from a lighter
material. They are not heavy but I think a the trade off between durable
and light could have been a bit more in favour of light.

I've just got one (plate) from www.backpackinglight.co.uk but haven't
used it yet. I'll take it away with me this w/e if I get to the Lakes.

I must admit, I rather struggle to see the point. Why does it make
any difference if it's flat? If you're using a normal bowl, cup, etc,
you just stuff your spare clothing in it, so the volume's not wasted.
It's weight that's important.

They had the designer and his sidekick on Look North tonight and one of
them claimed their items were even lighter than titanium but as they are
made from overlapping plastic the items themselves would be
significantly lighter if they were permanently moulded into shape. I
don't know if they have addressed the problem of heating plastic over a
Primus.

I agree with Simon over the space issue but the best way to save weight
is to cut down on redundant items. Why take half a dozen when a spoon
and a billy will suffice.

I've never watched it before as it seemed like the typical media
luvvies idea of what business was like ie
stupid/patronising/unrealistic.

The poor sod obviously hadn't got a business plan that enabled him to
cost in staff as the business grew, leaving him running around like a
blue arsed fly trying to do everything.

I'm sure I've seen the idea somewhere before.
