  1. Perfect example of why I seldom believe studies. Someone,
somewhere, can come up with a seemingly plausible cause for
every affliction known to man. How about this; sleeping on a
mattress causes heart failure. Think about it; ever know
anyone with heart problems who HASN'T slept on a mattress?

NEWSFLASH: Sugar in "liquid foods" causes diabetes!!

Make up your own mind about the validity of the study. I've
    made up mine! 🙂

Why didn't they just point out the link between obesity and
DM instead of pointing to sodas as the "cause"? Because they
    wanted media attention, that's why!!

Naturally, the National Soft Drink Association wasn't too
    agreeable with the study's findings!

  2. You forgot carrots. Everyone almost, who has died has eaten
carrots therefore, carrots cause long and painful deaths.

  3. Yes, sort of like the study in the paper the other day about 114 women
in their 50's and 60's who have lost weight and gained weight during
their lives. The yo-yo dieting was cited as a possible cause for many
maladies. Big sigh, don't know too many women who haven't lost and
gained a pound or two by then. The worst part is, these people are often
being paid good money to fund these worthless studies. :-)

  4. And, not to mention, the horors of "Dihydrogen Monoxide" (dhmo.orgdhmo.org).

But seriously, we consume far too much high fructose
    corn syrup.

All of these "studies" have to be taken with a grain of
salt. I know that drinking huge, massive amounts of soda is
not good, but to say SODA causes diabetes is crazy. People
who develop this disease have many other triggers in their
diet, and are usually pre-disposed. What we need is a little
    more personal responsibility here..

  6. careful! salt causes hypertension! 🙂

Same for eating and drinking. Anything.

Also, never ever go to bed. More people die in bed than
anywhere else. Of course, now we can discuss sleep
    deprivation.

Alan, why not cut to the root cause of all deaths -
    birth !!!!

  8. Ha, LOL, these are all examples of how ridiculous many of
these conclusions are. People need to learn about nutrition,
and be resonsible for their own health. If you eat or drink
too much of anything, it will cause problems.
