    I have the last of the old style dura-ace group set on my road bike. Will the new ultegra levers with the neater cable set up work OK? I don't want to upgrade the whole group set because its had hardly any use, but I can get a pair of new ultegra levers for almost nothing.

    Yes, the pull ratios are the same.

    New Ultegra levers(6700) are NOT compatible with the front derailleur you have nor are they ideal for the older brake calipers. Get a 6700 FD and try the brakes...but be prepared to upgrade to 6700.
