  1. The combined populations of New York City and of Los Angeles:

some 11 and a half million people:

That is the number who have died from HIV/AIDS in Sub-
Saharan Africa since the beginning of the pandemic.

One in every four of those deaths was a child.

That number is more than 80% of all AIDS deaths worldwide.

    At least half of all infected adults are women aged 15-49;

In some countries more than 25% of pregnant women are
    infected.

At least 95% of all AIDS orphans have been African.

    <snip>

What on earth does this have to do with alternative health??

Do you have an alternative to current treatment for AIDS??
Maybe you think colonics would help??

Take this to an HIV or political activism group.

Or better yet, instead of just posting, take some real
action. If you really care about this tragedy you would be
doing more than complaining about the inactivity of others.

Cue Toby to call me a bigot.

Actually many AIDS patients are finding relief with
Vitamin C, and other nutritional IV's. That's common
    knowledge, Rich...

<< Take this to an HIV or political activism group. >>

Take your narrow mindedness to an appropriate newsgroup.

Why hasn't conventional medicine stepped up to the plate and
discovered a real cure? If I were you, Rich, and with all of
those people dead....I'd be damn ashamed of their lack of
    concern.....

Gotta love that one, another keeper from Debbee the moron.
The fact that there is no cure for AIDS equates, in her tiny
mind, to a lack of trying or concern.

I think coconut oils looks interesting. Anth

  8. Well I don't worry at all about cholesterol etc - a good
diet will keep it low. On these anecdotes, (might be pubmed
I read) people who were taking good diet with coconut oils
lowered their viral loads to non existant, others were
higher. It was conjected that their hamburger diet was to
blame. I think proline lysine and vitamin c will lower
    cholesterol. Anth

hmmmm...interesting...but does the coconut oil raise
the lipids?? trading viral load for CAD would not be a

also I noticed that one of the "ancedotes" concerned an

    oil...the literature confirms

    that

  9. If you think about stuff like Lorenzo's oil and CAD, there
was a lot of speculation that the oils would cause CAD Do
you think natives who eat coconuts suffer from CAD - In the
Philippines where they eat a lot of coconuts, I think the
    CAD is pretty low?

Anth My thoughts :- I would trade CAD for an undetectable
zero viral load. At least I could attempt to treat the CAD
    with diet/vitamin C/lysine.

    will lower HIV viral load.

  13. If there's populations that eat coconuts as part of their
staple diet, and their incidence of CAD is lower, then it's
    not the coconuts! Anth

unfortunately undetectable does not mean the virus is not
    latent.....in fact..other than a few infants...I know of
no cases where there was a

    "cure" of

    Quoted message said:

    the virus

    Magic Johnson...for instance...is viral load
    undectable...he does not

    consider

    Quoted message said:

himself cured...nor should he....unless we have much
    longer years of data

and coconut oil is about the worst for lipids...

it is impossible sometimes to figure out one population
    has less CAD than
    others..diet,,exercise..lifestyle..weight..stress..family
    history etc....

undoubtedly "our" western diet plus lifestyle is about as
    bad as it gets

    hawki.....

  14. I didn't suggest coconut lowered viral load, it has been
proven via clinical trials. As for the other argument, stick

It's debatable that viruses are really alive -- they can't
reproduce without hijacking the mechanism of a living cell.

No, viruses do survive outside the body -- that's how colds
and flu spread, for example. But they can't *do* anything
unless they get into the body.
