I'd use contact lenses and normal sunglasses. But then contact lenses don't
suit everyone.

Rudy Project Perception are £82 plus glazing. Fantastic frames and very
versatile. They have a removable insert to clip in your prescription so you
can take it out if you are wearing contact lenses. The front of the frame
flips up so you can see if you go inside and the whole front removes so you
can wear them as ordinary (though slightly bonkers looking) specs. It's also
possible to replace the tinted (polycarbonate) front lenses with clear or
differently tinted types.

I don't work for them but I have sold some and was very impressed.

Er, but that's just for the glasses. Then you have to get the inserts
glazed with your prescription lenses, which aren't suitable for all
prescriptions, etc - the price soon rises once you factor all that in!

Though you need to add on the cost of the prescriptions lenses.

I looked at the Rudy Project Perception, similar to the above but the wrap
around also flips up which is good for when light conditions
change---going under trees say---as you don't need to lose vision! The CTC
sell them, from 18 pounds. Of course by the time you get the insert lenses
and pay for grinding the cost is close to 200!

How much?

It depends but for a comparison the Adidas Evil Eye is about 99 quid for
the basic glasses. Prescription lenses below +/-6 add 50 quid,
prescription lenses above +/- 6 add 80 quid. That's from an online
retailer. The Adidas insert is a lense so the cost above is for grinding.
The Briko also need bare lenses factored in.

My Bolle Vigilantes were =A3110 with glazed prescription insert. Seeing =

prices for these over time here some people have done better than I did=20
and others have done worse.

Contacts and sunglasses may be another option.

You can do it for less than that. Have an optician make up a set of
prescription inserts for Bolle Edge frames (the big one-piece wrap
arounds). These aren't cheap, but they're as cheap as anything vaguely
unusual that you'll get from an optician.

Then spend 15 - 20 quid on a pair of cheap wrap arounds. Remove the
rubber nosepiece and use a Dremel or sandpaper to adjust the nosepiece
opening on the thin shade of the cheapies, Clip in the Bolle insert
and ride off, whistling cheerfully.

I have a genuine set of Bolle's, but only with dark grey lenses. For
bug and wind exclusion near dusk, I also have cheapies with clear or
yellow lenses. They're cheaper than a spare shade from Bolle.

POI: Bolle have discontinued the Edge, though you can get a similar
insert for the Parole and Vigilante glasses.

Hi everyone..........thanks for the advice.....will be pricing up various
options. Its a real pity that i cant find any wrap round clip-ons for my
ordinary specs. Still you cant have everything.
