  1. does anyone know where to obtain a fastskin from a foriegn country (like one from japan, europe, or
australlia)? ive heard that the materials vary in the different countries, so some may be better
than others. also, the colors are a lot cooler 🙂

    thanks.

Why should they vary? Most of the companies producing these suits are multi-national and the only
reason for them to introduce differring formulas is to test new ones on elite athletes.

Actually, Dr. Clean, swimsuits vary quite a bit around the world. "Speedo", "TYR", "Arena", etc are
all just brand names which are licensed to many different companies around the world who manufacture
and market the swimwear in distinct regions. I haven't been buying any Fastskin or elite-type suits,
but with Speedo and Arena, for instance, I've been much more pleased with swimsuits I've purchased
in the UK or Asia than with the very mediocre mass-market stuff they try to sell in the US.

There are various quality standards of swim suit for all companies that I've seen. However, I'm sure
they license companies to produce to the specified quality and that if they fell short of that
quality they would loose their license????

I find that the difference in price I pay for some suits of the same name reflects a change in
quality and reliability. However, I haven't seen (or don't remember seeing) any labelling to suggest
a quality standard. If the quality control standards of these companies are so poor then the general
    public should know about it.

Other peoples knowledge would be appreciated here.

Maybe they're not short of quality, maybe they are just at the acceptable level of quality... While
in other places, in a smaller volume market, it would be counter productive to have the higher and
the lower quality product, so, it's possible that certain markets only get certain type (higher
    quality) product.

There is also several levels of quality (and price) within a brand name. I get Speedo and TYR
catalogs, and often you see higher end swimsuits in there that you never see in a store(even a
specialty store), and they can be purchased through a catalog. I've seen my local specialty store
having those catalogs, and they offer to order the swimsuit for you (even with no obligation to
buy), but they often don't carry the items that don't sell in a certain volume.

  7. Maybe some of them are exclusive to the teams. you might want to look up the websites for those
teams, and see who their sponsors are.

  8. Matt: Sorry for our digression... here are two possibilities for you:
    1) www.allensswimwear.co.uk has a few unique color combinations...
    2) members.cox.net/ngc-4314 ... this guy (Scott is his name) has a source in Japan who gets
swimsuits from the major labels over there. Scott's online catalog doesn't include any full-body
suits, but I think he does have some fastskin briefs and jammers, and he might be able to help
    you find full-body suits.

    Good luck... -Shannon
