Felt Bikes

Finally a question I can answer...
I owned a Felt F90 for about 6 months, 700 miles, it was also a starter bike for me, and of course the low end of their range, I think it was replaced by the F91...

It didn't have any Carbon on it, so, being a cheap all aluminum bike it was very harsh...I see the one you're looking at has Carbon seat stays etc...so it should ride a LOT better than mine...
But the good news is, the finish was outstanding, Felt make some great looking bikes, it also came with some really nice parts, such as good strong alex wheels, a sella saddle etc etc...

All in all, I was really happy with it...especially because it only cost around $600...so it was kinda in the Trek 1000, Giant OCR3 range...

Your Dad must have been really good this year, what a great Gift!!

A bike shop near my house stocks Felt bikes and I've had a look at them up close. Although I haven't ridden any of them, which is what really matters, they appear to be well made bikes and offer a good "bang for the buck" compared to other name brands. I don't know anything about Felt's warranty service. That would be the only thing that would conceivably keep me from purchasing one.

I started cycling at 54 so I needed all the comfort help I could get. I went for the SR81, it has carbon forks, but a suspension seatpost and flat bars, just the thing for an older rider. At my age who needs lycra... comfort is what keeps you riding.

I finally settled on a Felt F50 last spring, and I think it was the right decision. They're built somewhat long and low and ride very stable out on the road. The frame on the 105 equipped F70 is good enough to justify a few upgrades too. I upgraded the wheelset and put a compact crank on my F50, more because of hot deals than any real need.

I was used to much heavier frame and initially had some trouble with shimmy at about 42 mph. Now that I've learned to relax and dialed in the fit to keep the right amount of weight off of the handlebar, I find 45-50 mph isn't the least bit unnerving.

I bought my Felt F45 in August.
I absolutely enjoy the bike, but this one is near the $2K mark.
