  1. I'm not one to EVER deliberately get an innocent animal drunk, but this
squirrel did it to himself. ;-) I found it sadly amusing. If it were me
taking that video, I'd have grabbed my welders gloves and put the
squirrel in a cage with lots of shavings in a dark place where he could
sleep it off, and turned him loose later:

I understand that drunken animals from consuming fermented fruit is not
    an unusual occurance.

Theoretically, humans learned about it that way?

For some birds, due to enzymes in their stomachs, berries, other fruit and
certain vegetable matter ferment and they can get drunk during the digestion
process. Cut open a stomach to note their last meal and you'll think they ate
    skunk!!! @P

Dunno; it was funny when it was running around in circles. If the video
hadn't said the squirrel was drunk I'd have been worried about it being ill!

Back when I was married my husband left a jack & coke sitting on the coffee
table. My puppy, Sampson, climbed up and took himself a good long drink.
Oh dear! He was a crying drunk, walking into walls and whining. I was so
happy when he finally slept it off.

The most appealing drink for dogs is Bayley's whiskream: irresistible to
almost all. A good weapon to neutralize intrusive german sheperds.

    Not likely...

Works on the owners too if they are stupid enough to let their dogs run
    loose.
