Final unicycle choice!

O.K. Tyler,
I'm no expert, but by comparing the options, I think I'd go with
the Torker Dx ( due to the splined hub) or the Nimbus X (due to the
Hookworm tire, alloy cranks and standard size seatpost and Kris Holm
style saddle)
I hope this helps narrow things down a bit.

Yeah, I would definately go with the Torker DX also, after hearing
pretty good things about it. Its got a pretty sweet saddle also. I'd say
for the price ($140-$150) you can't get a better unicycle. Since you
were planning on spending $200, you can upgrade it. Check ebay. And try
to get an '05.

Why would you after everybody in this thread telling to go with a Torker
DX. The torker is splined, and is so much better than a Nimbus X. A lot
of people like the torkers KH style saddle more than the KH.

yeah, but i want to buy from unicycle.com, and it's almost $200 on

ok look, for freestyle you will allmost never break the dx, but on the
nimbus it can be broken with ease.

I don't know much about freestyle but I don't see the need for a splined
setup. The nimbus's would likely be lighter and I think look better.
Plus they are more designed specifically for freestyle. Hopefully a real
freestyle person can help you out.

If you want FREESTYLE get the Torker LX. If you want TRIALS get the
Torker DX. Don't do TRIALS stuff on the LX and it should last you a
loooong time.

the torker DX is not for trials. On unicycle dot com it is listed under
freestyle. And it can't be for trials anyway because the tire is so
skinny. Tyler, you are going to be dissapointed if you get the LX, I am
just encouraging you to get the DX, but in the end you are the one who
has to make the decision.

You need more choices on the poll. My suggestion is that you get the
semcycle long neck off unicycle.com and upgrade the seat. The frame,
from what I understand, is top quality, and the wheel will probably
stand up to any normal freestyle riding. Your other option for just
under 200$ would be the Miyata Standard. Miyatas have a very good
reputation among freestyle riders. I would not advise the DX, because it
seems slightly overbuilt for most freestyle. For freestyle you want a
light frame, and you don't need a splined hub or shin shredding pedals.
If you are set on one the unicycles listed above, your best choice would
almost certainly be the Nimbus X.

Your poll is missing the option of "Make up your mind already and pick
one: draw straws or flip a coin twice!" 🙂

Basic advice to live by: If you're as into unicycling as you are, don't
make your decision based on price. Get the best thing you can to fit
your needs. Period. If that means saving up a little longer, suck it up
and do it. You'll agree it was worth it a year from now.
