Depends whereabouts in Melbourne you are. Abbotsford Cycles in Richmond are
helpful and carry all manner of stuff.

Why bother? I assume the frame's steel? It's trivially easy to widen the
rear dropouts 4mm with a length of two-by-four. Up front - are you
certain it's 90mm? 1985 is about when I got seriously into cycling and
100mm was the rock-solid, been-around-for-years front hub spacing
standard even then.

Why bother? I assume the frame's steel? It's trivially easy to widen the

Perhaps the rear is not such a problem - the frame is steel, but I have a spare front wheel which I tried to jam in there, to no avail. It also seems that the fork ends admit a narrower axle diameter than my rather conventional modern wheel(!).

PS. The original owner admitted that the bike was relatively cheap for its time... perhaps that has something to do with the oddball size?
