On Monday (a holiday here in WA) my wife, my son (in a trailer) and I went
for a wee trundle along the bike paths next to the Swan & Canning rivers.
It was very pleasant and nowhere near as scarily hot as I thought it might
be.
This was my wife's first ride in several years, having had a dodgy knee
(probably caused by loads of mountain biking in Scotland) and finally
having surgery on it last year (a TTT - tibial tuberosity transfer). Yes,
the paths are pretty much flat, but I was well chuffed that she managed
20km on her first ride back. So hopefully that was the first of many such
rides, particularly as breakfast at that cafe in Matilda Bay is wonderful!
