Flanders Bike?

Sorry no one responded to you, I just noticed this thread myself today, hopefully it's not too late.

I don't know much about that particular bike, but it looks like a really nice older bike. I think it was a Belgium brand, but the big question is, is it worth 250 pounds or $400 American dollars? That seems too high to me, but not sure if England is more expensive then here for older bikes. But I need more info to be sure, what are the components on the bike? Is the frame lugged? what rims are on it? include models of the crank, derailleurs and hubs, brand of rim. Don't just say Suntour, but Suntour VgT or Shimano 600 or Campy Record; because the brand and model can tell is the quality of the frame, low end components cheap frame, high end components high end frame. Also if possible on the frame there should be a tube sticker telling what type of tube was used like Reynolds 531 with a small letter sometimes after the number, and does it mention dble butted main tubes?

The more info you can get the better idea of a fair price we can give.

Looks like a lugged frame to me, from the photos. That would give it extra points. I agree that the price seems high for a used bike. Bar-end shifter are nice, but a newer rider may prefer modern Brake/shift levers. And of course the main factor is fit. You should go ride it and see how it feels. Maybe try some new bikes at a local shop to compare.

Flanders still makes bicycles.
GBP 250 is to much for this bike!

Those components are most likely Shimano Exige - you can make that out on the brake levers and the sub - 105 quality on the cranks and rear mech continue that theme. Add in the ancient Cinelli 1A (the only nice bit of kit on the bike) stem, what looks like a Stronglight fluted seatpost, random brakes and a cobbled together steel frame with no water bottle or gear lever bosses and you have some cheap pile o' [censored] that belongs back in the very early 80s and should have been culled (aka recycled) before 1990 and turned into gas pipes.

Fluted with black accents seat post were made by several different manufactures including Campy and TTT.

Help me out with the rear derailleur, because when I googled images the closest I could come to the style of that rear derailleur was Dura Ace and a RX100 not Exage with the Dura Ace being a closer match.

I can't get a good enough view to make an comment on the crank or on the cantilever brakes.

But I don't think the original OP is interested anymore since his last response was his initial inquiry 4 months ago and never bothered to come back with more details.
