  1. DS has invited himself for dinner tonight and "demanded" Beef Wellington...

Anywho, I don't do goose liver pate, so I usually substitute chicken
liver pate', but we saw an alternative pate' on one of our local cooking
    shows yesterday... Long story short:

Take some chopped 'shooms, (plenty of) crushed garlic, onions, herbs
(of your choice) and some ham - then shove the lot into a blender to
make the pate'. Have gotten this far <lol>. Added a little red wine to
make it "moist" (so sue me!)....

So far, so good: It looks like pate', has the consistency of pate' - and
it smells/tastes good so far... Wish me luck!

Please continue with the experiment! I'd like to know what it
tastes like after the rest of the stages.

That is similar to my approach the first time I tried Beouf en Croute,
which called for ingredients made with other recipes in the book, 4-5 sub
recipes to make the dish. One of them was mushroom flavouring. Another was
liver pate, and they were to be mixed. I sautéed the livers and the
mushrooms and threw them into the blender together.

    James,

It was "nice". Not bad, not good, not fantastic - just "nice". I've had
much better results with my "normal" pate'.
But I had fun trying... LOL
