Stopped and picked up a dollar off the ground about half way through a 7
mile work out. During the rest of the run I got to thinking what's the
minimum amount I'd break stride for? I think a dollar is the lowest I'd go.
I know I've ran past dimes and nickels before. Don't recall seeing a
quarter. So what's your minimum?

The next week it wasn't there.--
Crossing the starting line is 90%.
Crossing the finish line is the other 90%. -

I know I've ran past dimes and nickels before. Don't recall seeing a
quarter. So what's your minimum?I don't stop for change. I found $43 while crossing the bar parking
lot two years ago. This parking lot has been profitable for me in the
past. The other day I was half mile from home and came across a spool
of stainless steel wire. It was easy enough to carry such a short
distance. One time while three miles from home I found a 12' set of
heavy duty jumper cables. I wound them around my waist and clipped the
ends together. The sheriff went by slowly and was very puzzled.
Sometimes you can hide things and return later, but don't count on
them being there. -

Sometimes you can hide things and return later, but don't count on
them being there.I've found a variety of hand tools over the years, many of which I still
use. My favorite find was a 6-foot iron prybar that I found under a
freeway overpass. I assume that it bounced off the back of a truck, and
fell about 50' from the freeway to the field below. I've always felt
that I was entitled to this prize, since the prybar weighs about 10 lbs
and it probably would have killed me if I had been running at the same
location when it fell. -

Sorry I wasn't clear enough. It was more like; run past a piece of paper
and then have the light in my head go off "hey that looked like money",
stop, run back 5 paces and pick up the dollarQuoted message said:

Sorry I wasn't clear enough. It was more like; run past a piece of paper

stop, run back 5 paces and pick up the dollarOK, I used to pick up copper coins because copper is a bit of an intrusion
into an ecosystem. Nickel/Silver coins aren't as much of a problem, and I
might pick them up. In Australia, copper coins went a couple of decades
ago. "Gold" coins (here, $1 and $2) are Al/Cu, and I'll grab them, too.I once found $105 on an early Sunday run near the Star City Casino (aka
Sydney Casino). Gambling is a wealth hazard...I don't need the money. I pick things up because I do. Small metal objects.

Found $30 in the soft sand in Hermosa Beach once.
Also found a Wallet with a crisp $100 bill in it. Belonged to a teenager.
I returned it. -

I returned it.I've thought about his now that you bring it up. I wouldn't
ever stop for change, unless there was a pile of it, and even
then maybe not since I'd have to carry it. But I'd pretty much
always stop for bills. Now that is three minutes of my life I'll
never get back.S.

certain amount (as little as $5) be turned into the police. If it is not
claimed by a certain time, then the money is legally yours.--
