Frame sizing ?

I used them to great effect last summer. I am however, absolutely
average size (including shoes), with the exception of shoulders (2"
wider).

They will ask what sort of riding you will do;
Racing - handlebars about 5" below saddle - you will probably not want
this
Sports - handlebars about 1-2" below saddle
Touring - upright position.

Recommended frame geometry will follow from your size and type of
riding.

I asked for Sports, and ended with a 73/72.5 degree parallel 56cm top
tube. It felt right from the moment I sat on it.

30 pounds well spent, and a small fraction of the total cost. I had
previously (some years ago) bought a frame that was always too small. I
also have a track bike with a frame that is too small.
