When I spin my rear wheel (forward) it is spinning my chain causing my crank to turn. I know this is a bad sign for something I just can't remember what. I believe freewheel or hub bearings. Anyone know for sure.

You could try lubricating the freewheel, sheldonbrown.comfreewheels.htmlOpen ↗ to see if the pawls will start ratcheting again. Otherwise, it's probably time to buy a new freewheel.

They are ratcheting, just causing enough resistance to turn the cassette as well. Hopefully it's just a possible lube issue. It's all Dura Ace and only a year old.

Took it by the LBS. The tech removed the spoke guard first but it wasn't the problem. Then said it probably is a combination of freehub needing to be lubed and having some super slick BB bearings.

One-year old DA hub? How many miles? Rode much in the rain/dirt? Don't buy the "super slick BB bearings" baloney; friction in the chain going through the jockey wheels alone should keep the chain from moving.I suspect something is fishy with your hub, unless you rode a lot in really crummy weather. If you bought it from them, have them lube it for free, telling them you want the hub warrantied if the problem comes back. I have seen DA hubs being ridden for tens of thousands of miles without ever needing a lube.

2000 miles.
No riding in dirt, very little rain.
Actually the hubs are Mavic Ksyrium Elites.
I did not buy it from them, the shop I bought it from closed.
The tech just gave it a quick look because I'm bringing the bike back in anyway to get a new crankset installed, FSA to DA. He said he would look with more detail then. He said he wasn't too overly concerned because it wasn't causing the chain to bunch up at all if the crank was held.
Incidently I could not reproduce the problem last night. -
Sounds to me like you don't have a problem. Do you notice it when riding?
Alternatively, Mavic freehubs contain a plastic bush that allegedly needs replacement every 3000km-maybe yours is worn?

- my brand new , DIY installed DuraAce groupset does that too.
- so does 105 / Ultegra on my other bikes.
- shows you've a healthy drive train , I suppose.
